Kenneth A. Boehnlein's Obituary
Kenneth A. Boehnlein, age 77, of Streetsboro, passed away Thursday, February 8, 2024 at the Hospice of the Western Reserve of Medina, surrounded by his family.
He was born December 10, 1946 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Edward and Julia (nee Kall) Boehnlein. Ken was a 1964 graduate of Maple Heights High School and soon after, enlisted in the military. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy, serving during Vietnam. Ken was an electrician by trade, and worked at John Carroll University, from where he later retired. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Mantua, Ohio.
Ken enjoyed walking and Model Railroading. He was an avid Browns fan and eagerly looked forward to the family gatherings for “Football Sunday” each week, but what he cherished the most was spending time with his grandchildren.
Along with his parents, Ken was also preceded in death by a daughter Sarah Boehnlein; a brother, Edward Boehnlein; sisters Marcella Boehnlein, Christine Herron and Rita Glodowski. He is survived by his daughter Melissa (Jared) Gruber of Streetsboro; grandchildren, Jacob Haney, Abigail Gruber and Rhett Gruber; and a sister, Kathrin Burg of Willoughby.
Family will receive friends at Green Funeral Care, 4668 Pioneer Trail (at the corner of St. Rt. 44), Mantua, Monday, February 12, 2024 from 4 – 7 p.m. Morning Prayers at the funeral home Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at 10:15 a.m., immediately followed by Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 11045 St. Joseph Blvd., Mantua, at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at All Saints Cemetery, Northfield, Oh, with military honors.
