Kenneth E. Canan's Obituary
GARRETTSVILLE-WINDHAMKenneth E. Canan, 68 years of age, passed away Thursday October 22, 2015 at Ahuja Medical Center in Beachwood, Ohio. Born in Crellin, Maryland on July 14, 1947, he was the son of the late Elwood R, and Marian M. (McKenzie) Canan. A lifetime resident of the Windham and Garrettsville areas, Kenny had been employed in the Water Department for the Village of Windham for over 20 years, retiring in 2000. Kenny proudly served his country during the Vietnam Era in the U.S. Army, and was a lifetime member of the 11th. Armored Cavalry's Veterans of Vietnam and Cambodia. Kenny truly enjoyed playing cards, Bingo and the lottery. On March 14, 1970, he married Sharon ( Thornton) Canan who survives at their home.Also surviving are his sons Chris (Stephanie) Canan of Windham, Stephen (Sarah) Canan and Mike (Shannon Post) Canan both of Garrettsville, grandchildren Austin, Draven, Christopher, Isis, Caleb and Taylor, his nephew Kyle Macauley of Akron and sister-in-law Jenny Macauley of Garrettsville. He was preceded in death by his son Jason R. Canan in 2013 and his brother Robert Canan. No calling hours or services. Kenny will be laid to rest at Windham Township Cemetery following a private family committal where he will receive full military honors. Arrangements are by the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service in Mantua
