Kenneth G. Gill's Obituary
GARRETTSVILLEKenneth G. Gill, 76 years of age, passed away Tuesday June 15, 2010 at his residence. Born on February 22, 1934 in Copley Township, Ohio, he was the son of the late Leo P. and Emma (Getz) Gill. A longtime resident of Portage County and Newton Falls areas, he lived in Garrettsville for 34 years. Mr. Gill was employed as an engraver-plate maker at the Record Courier for 38 years where his work ethic will always be remembered, and where he retired from in 2007. He was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Garrettsville. Kenny enjoyed gardening, traveling to Florida and viewed work as not just a job. On September 1, 1955 he married Rebecca J. "Becky" (Sweet) Gill who survives at their home. Also surviving is his son Roger Lee (Sherrie M.) Gill of Ravenna; his daughters Teresa M. (Kenny) Arbogast of Rootstown and Karla R. (Allen) Beatty of Tallmadge; brothers Jack Gill of Texas and Stan (Nancy) Gill and Ron (Cynthia) Gill both of Garrettsville; sisters Norma Lee Baker of Willowick and Pauline (Ralph) Ross and Helen Danku both of Garrettsville. 3 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren also survive. Calling hours will be Friday from 2:00 P.M.-4:00 P.M. and 6:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service in Mantua. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday June 19, 2010 at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Garrettsville at 11:00 A.M. with. Rev. Leo Wehrlin officiating. (Everyone Please Meet at The Church). Mr. Gill will be laid to rest at Park Cemetery in Garrettsville. Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.
