Kenneth W. Kleve's Obituary
BURTONKenneth W. "Ken" Kleve, 66 years of age of Burton, passed away Wednesday June 30, 2010 in Burton, Ohio. Ken was born on January 29, 1944 in Chardon, Ohio the son of the late Carl W. and Mabel K. (Hildinger) Kleve. A lifetime Burton resident, he resided in the home that he grew up in Burton. Ken was employed as an insurance agent with Kleve & Associates Insurance Agency where his genuine feeling towards clients and his professionalism became a trademark within his field. A. U.S. Army veteran of the Viet Nam Era, he earned the Rank of Sergeant, and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal. A true American in spirit and patriotism, Ken maintained an active part of Middlefield VFW Post No. 9678 and American Legion Post No. 459 in Burton, where he was always available to work on any project and contribute to the care of other individuals. He was a former member of Burton Jaycees, Burton Recreation District, YMCA Program Committee, YMCA basketball coach. Little League Boys coach, T-Ball Boys and Girls coach, Girls Softball coach and the Burton Police Department in the 60's. He also served on the Burton Village Council for 12 years and was a former President of Council. Currently Ken was serving his community the past 6 years on the Burton Board of Public Affairs. He presently is a member of Chagrin Valley Lutheran Church in Chagrin Falls. An avid golfer, Ken was an O.S.U. and Cleveland Indians fan. He enjoyed car shows and collecting coins and was the proud owner of his 63&1/2 Ford Falcon. A "Go to Guy", Ken will always be remembered for his inspiration, strength, determination and passion during his illness. While serving both his country and community were of great importance, Ken's family was always No. 1 in his life. On September 26, 1964, he married Barbara R. (Beck) Kleve and their love continued and together this September they would have celebrated 46 years of marriage. In addition to his wife Barbara, Ken is survived by his son Kenneth R. (Lorie) Kleve of Woodinville, Washington, his daughter Karen Ruth (Michael) Burns of Kettering, Ohio, his brother Donald (Billie) Kleve of Chardon, Ohio, his sister Marion Parker of Michigan and his loving granddaughter Riley S. and loving grandsons Dane and Kyson. He was preceded in death by two brothers Herbert and Robert Kleve and one sister Carole Stanziale. Calling hours will be Monday from 1-3 P.M. and 6-8 P.M. at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service, St.Rt. 44 at the corner of Pioneer Trail (S.of Rt. 422) Mantua. Funeral services will be Tuesday July 6, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at Chagrin Valley Lutheran Church, 87 East Orange Street, Chagrin Falls with Pastor Daniel Esala officiating.(EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT THE CHURCH) Ken will then be laid to rest at Maple Hill Cemetery in Munson Township, Ohio where full military honors will be accorded by the U.S. Army Honors Guard Team and American Legion Post No. 459.
