Kenneth Taylor's Obituary
HIRAM Kenneth Taylor, 90 years of age, passed away Friday January 6, 2012 at Memorial Hospital Miramar in Miramar, Florida. Mr. Taylor was born in Gilmer, West Virginia on December 21, 1921, the son of the late George S. and Frances (Turner) Taylor. A resident of the Hiram area since 1951, he was a longtime member of the Hiram Christian Church. A. veteran of World War II, he served his country in the U. S. Army. He held member ships in the American Legion Post No. 193 in Mantua and Post No. 32 in Garrettsville. An employee of Polson Rubber Company for 25 years as a compound mixer, he then worked at Pritchard Products in Hiram from where he then retired. Mr. Taylor enjoyed the outdoors that included hunting and especially fishing, and also found pleasure in time spent reading. On December 30, 1950, he married Velda L. (Dyer) Taylor who preceded him in death on July 18, 2009. Also preceding him in death were his siblings Clifton, Cluster and Muriel Taylor, Madaline Cogar and Ethel Taylor. Survivors include his sons Kenneth L. (Kathryn) Taylor of Pembroke Pines, Florida and Jeffery B. (Sherry) Taylor of Nelson Township, brother Dennis (Audrey) Taylor of Hiram, sister Kathleen Skinner of West Virginia, 3 grandchildren Stephanie, Theresa and Cliffton and 6 great-grandchildren. Calling hours will be Friday from 5:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M. at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service in Mantua, where his funeral service will be Saturday January 14, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. with Rev. Roger McKinney officiating. Mr. Taylor will then be laid to rest beside his loving wife Velda at Fairview Cemetery in Hiram where he will be provided full military honors by a U.S. Army Honor Guard Team assisted by American Legion Post No. 193.
