Ksenija Dejanovic's Obituary
FREEDOM TWP. Ksenija Dejanovic, 44 years of age of Freedom Township, passed away Saturday August 29, 2009 at her residence. She was born on March 5, 1965 in Rasinja, Croatia the daughter of Stjepan and Barbara (Pribeg) Namjesnik. After she received her Master's Degree at the University of Zagreb in Croatia, she immigrated to the United States in 1994, earning her PhD in Geology at Kent State University in December of 1999, and has since been employed as a professor at Kent State. She also most recently has been a Post-doctoral fellow at Kent State regional campuses. On August 28, 1993, Ksenija married Mijo Dejanovic, who survives at their home, as does their son Ante-Tonci Dejanovic. Also surviving her are her parents and brothers Lantonio and Daniel (Zeljka) Namjesnik all of Croatia and her aunt Violet Benich of Randolph and other loving family and friends in Croatia. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday September 5, 2009 at 12:00 Noon at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Garrettsville, where Ksenija was a faithful member. Fr. Leo Wehrlin will officiate. Visitation will be held Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until the mass, at the church. Ksenija will be laid to rest in Croatia. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Dejanovic Family Memorial Fund at any Huntington National Bank. Arrangements are by the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service in Mantua.
