Larry W. Platt's Obituary
STOWLarry W. Platt, 65 years of age of Stow, Ohio, passed away Tuesday January 5, 2010 at his residence. Mr. Platt was God's Gift to Us on July 6, 1944 in Minden, Louisiana the son of the late Andy J. and Idabell (Livingston) Platt. A resident of Stow the past year, he formerly was a longtime Portage County area resident. Mr. Platt was employed for 32 years at Ferro Corporation in Cleveland as a tow motor operator, retiring in 1998. Larry enjoyed traveling the United States with his wife Eleanor. On September 29, 1986, he married Eleanor H. (Fayer) Platt who survives at their home. Also surviving are his sons Matt McLendon and Mark (Dawn) McLendon both of Aurora, his brother Roger Platt of Winlock, Washington and sisters Irene King of Onalaska, Washington and Elaine Tolar of Texarkana, Texas and four grandchildren Tim, Jake, Hunter and Alaina. He was preceded in death by two brothers A.J. and Michael Platt. Funeral services will be Monday January 11, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service in Mantua, with Pastor Ferlie Yatesi officiating. Friends may call from 10:00 A.M. until service time on Monday. Mr. Platt will be laid to rest at Grandview Memorial Park, Ravenna, Ohio.
