Larry A. Shanholtzer's Obituary
SUTTON,WEST VIRGINIA-MANTUA Larry A. Shanholtzer, 58 years of age, passed away Wednesday July 4, 2012 at the Cleveland Clinic Hospital. Larry was born in Clarksburg, West Virginia on October 25, 1953, the son of the late Herman and Naomi (Bean) Shanholtzer. A graduate of Crestwood High School, he was a Mantua area resident for many years, having been employed as a mechanic at Aurora Automotive from where he retired. He previously owned and operated his automotive shop in Sutton. Larry was a man who not only enjoyed the outdoors, having farmed in West Virginia and taking special pride in his gardening abilities, he also truly appreciated the simple life of the land and what God has given to all. Living on top of a West Virginia mountain provided him with the opportunity to see the sun rise in the morning and set in the evening , the beauty of which he loved more than words could be spoken. His family and friends will always remember his "Way with Words" and the jokester qualities he did not hesitate to share. He is survived by his beloved children Scott (Dana) Shanholtzer of Cuyahoga Falls and Alicia (Ryan) Bailey of Ravenna, his dear siblings Gerald (Patricia) Shanholtzer of Tennessee, David (Linda) Shanholtzer of Chagrin Falls, Eugene (Doris) Shanholtzer of Ravenna, Janice Rutherford of Mantua, Dorothy (Jack) Horner of Hiram, Barbara Kylin of Columbus and Karen (John) Harper of Mantua, and his loving grandchildren Savannah and McKenna Bailey. He was preceded in death by his sister Rebecca Ann Perry in 2005.A Memorial Service for Larry will be held Friday July 20, 2012 at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service in Mantua at 7:00 P.M., where visitation will begin at 5:30 P.M. until the time of his service. Cremation has taken place, and at his request he is being laid to rest in the mountains of West Virginia.
