Larry O. Showalter's Obituary
Larry Showalter, age 87, passed away surrounded by those who loved him most.
Larry was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and family man. He was married to the love of his life, Arlene Showalter, for 57 years, building a life rooted in love, commitment, and family. An endowed servant of the "Boss Lady". Together they raised their children, Larry Showalter and Stacey (Carl) Wilson.
He was a cherished grandfather to Morgan, Wyatt, and Bailey, and he found great happiness in watching his family grow. Larry is survived by his siblings Allison (the late Monnie) Showalter. He was preceded in death by his sister Jewell (Jim) Bernhard and Gregory Showalter.
A proud U.S. Army veteran, Larry served his country with honor. He carried that sense of dedication throughout his life in all he did. He had a deep love for the outdoors and spent many happy hours fishing, hunting, and enjoying nature. A lifelong sports enthusiast, Larry played softball and baseball and remained an avid fan, especially of the West Virginia Mountaineers, whom he followed with great passion.
Above all else, Larry was a family man. His strength, loyalty, and love will be remembered by all who knew him. His legacy lives on through his family and the many memories they will forever cherish. Please wear any West Virginia Mountaineers attire if possible.
A gathering will be Sunday 12-4PM at Green Funeral Care. 4668 Pioneer Trail Mantua, Ohio 44255. A funeral service will be Monday 10AM at Green Funeral Care. Interment Riverside Cemetery Shalersville.
