Lauren "Bill" Williams' Obituary
TROY TWP. Lauren R. " Bill " Williams, 89 years of age, passed away Monday July 19, 2010 at University Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio. Bill was born on February 27, 1921 in Braceville, Ohio the son of the late Archie and Jessie (Lane) Williams. Formerly of Braceville, he was a resident of Troy Township since 1946. A member of Local No. 18, he had been employed as a heavy equipment operator for National Engineering & Contracting in Strongsville. Bill served his country in World War II in the U.S. Navy. He was a longtime member of American Legion Post No. 193. Bill was a member of Western Phoenix Lodge No. 42 F. &A.M. in Parkman, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of Cleveland and Crescent Chapter O.E.S. in Garrettsville. On October 19, 1946, he married Wanda (Russell) Williams who survives at their residence. Also surviving is his son Keith Williams of Troy Twp., his brother David Williams of Arizona, 2 grandchildren Matthew and Amity Williams and 1 great-granddaughter Julia and devoted family friend Mary Lou Garver. A Masonic Funeral Service will be Friday July 23, 2010 at 6:00 P.M. at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service in Mantua, where calling hours will follow from 6:30 P.M.-7:30 P.M... Full military honors will be accorded at 7:30 P.M. by the U.S. Navy Honor Guard Team and members of American Legion Post No. 193. Bill will be laid to rest with a private family burial at Braceville Cemetery.
