GARRETTSVILLE
LaVerne C. Friedel, 96 years of age of Garrettsville, passed away Tuesday, September 13, 2022. Born in Cleveland, Ohio on August 29, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Anna (Fersching) Dailey. Mrs. Friedel was formerly a longtime Cleveland resident, where she attended Fenn College (now Cleveland State University) following her graduation from East High School. She was employed as a secretarial trainer at Republic Steel/Bolt & Nut Division. A former member of Immaculate Conception Church in Cleveland, and volunteered as the parish secretary for many years. Mrs. Friedel attended St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Garrettsville. While she enjoyed gardening, cooking, and anything historic or political in her spare time, her grandchildren and family were the most important part of her life, and memories of their love for her, and her love for them will always be cherished. On May 4, 1957, she married Francis G. Friedel who preceded her in death on September 23, 2018. Also surviving are her children Francis P. (Amy) Friedel of Florida, Anne Brentar of Michigan and Kathleen (Lynn) Scott of Mantua; 6 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren, also survive. She was preceded in death by her siblings Lillian Pasternack and James Dailey. No calling hours. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, September 19, 2022, at 10:00 A.M. at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 10692 Freedom Street, Garrettsville, Ohio 44231. (Everyone Please Meet At The Church). Final resting place will follow at Park Cemetery in Garrettsville. In Lieu of flowers, please consider memorials in her name to Light of Hearts Villa/Bedford, Ohio.
