Lawrence D. Hammonds' Obituary
GARRETTSVILLE Lawrence D. Hammonds, 73 years of age, passed away Sunday November 8, 2015 at his residence. Born in Adolf, West Virginia on October 31, 1942, he was the son of the late Clinton and Mabel (Taylor) Hammonds. A resident of the Garrettsville and Nelson Township the past 40 years, he had been employed for many years at Packard Electric in Warren, Ohio from where he then retired from. Mr. Hammonds proudly served in the U.S. Army, and was a member of Windham American Legion Post No. 679 and of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Post No. 2705 in Garrettsville. He will be remembered for his enjoyment of watching horses, and the special times spent with his children, grandchildren and his many friends. Survivors include his sons Joseph (Renee) Hammonds and Jerod Hammonds both of Garrettsville, brothers Ronald Hammond's of Garrettsville and Charles Hammonds of West Virginia, sister Nina (George) Meade of Warren, grandchildren Alyssa and Kayla, great-grandchildren Kylie and Kennedy and his son-in-law Kevin Byrd of Windham. He was preceded in death in 2014 by his loving daughter Allyson Hammonds, and two brothers Jerry and Quay Hammonds. Calling hours will be Friday from 5:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M. at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service, 4668 Pioneer Trail at the corner of St. Rt. 44, Mantua, Ohio 44255, where his funeral service will be held Saturday November 14, 2015 at 11:00 A.M., with Pastor Richard Hoskins officiating.
