Leonard Kenney's Obituary
TROY TWP. Leonard Kenney, 77 years of age of Troy Township, Ohio, passed away Monday July 22, 2013 at his residence. Born in Rainelle, West Virginia on February 15, 1936, he was the son of the late Sampson and Oma (Hanson) Kenney. A resident of the Troy Township area since 1962, he had been self employed as a truck driver. Mr. Kenney obtained his Private Pilot License and enjoyed flying, as well as riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle. He also found pleasure in watching Western's and Military movies on T.V. Mr. Kenney was a U.S. Army Veteran.On October 20, 1990, he married Deborah (Davisson) Kenney who survives at their home. Also surviving are his daughters Julie Burrier of Twinsburg, Jennifer (Chris) Repay and Lisa (David) Morehouse both of Akron, son-in-law Gail Burrier of Newcomerstown, Ohio, brother Douglas (Karen) Kenney of Burton, sisters Wanda (Kenneth-deceased) Williams of Illinois, and Brenda Kenney of West Virginia, grandchildren Lexus, Emily, Jacob, Terez, Andrew, Joshua and Shelby, his nephew Danny Williams of Illinois, and his 4-legged child Brutus. Mr. Kenney was preceded in death by his first wife Mary Kenney in 1989, Brother Norman Kenney and Sister Mary Francis Kenney. Calling hours will be Thursday from 2:00 P.M.-4:00 P.M. & 6:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service, St.Rt. 44 at the corner of 4668 Pioneer Trail (S. of Rt. 422) Mantua, where his funeral service will be held Friday July 26, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. Final resting place will be at Troy Twp. Cemetery. Military Honor's will be provided by United States Army Honor Guard Team, assisted by members of Mantua American Legion Post No. 193.
