Leslie N. Montgomery's Obituary
WINDHAM-FREEDOM TWP. Leslie N. Montgomery, 75 years of age, passed away March 2, 2016 at his residence.Leslie was born in Milford, CT., on March 31, 1940, the son of the late Fred and Leona (Bouchard) Montgomery. A resident of Freedom Township-Windham since 2015, he formerly was a longtime Richfield resident. Mr. Montgomery had been employed at Roadway Express in Copley, retiring in 1998. He was a U.S. Navy veteran. An avid sports fan, and Boston Red Sox follower, he also enjoyed going to yard sales. He will forever be remembered as a man who loved his wife, and was devoted to her, as well as she to him, and that his family always came first. On December 5, 1965, he married Nancy M. (Carpenter) Montgomery who survives at their home.Also surviving are his sons Jack (Cynthia) Legg of Cleveland, Jesse (Rebecca) Legg of Bedford; daughters Nancy (Jerry) Ash of Richfield, Jackie (Marty) Behrens of Cleveland, Darlene(Mike) Sherrell of Garrettsville and Wanda Montgomery of Bedford. His brother Richard Montgomery and sisters Helen, Beverly, Carol and Virginia, 26 grandchildren and over 30 great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren also survive. He was preceded in death by his daughter Connie Adkins and sisters Ramona and Marlene, and brothers Eugene, Ronnie, Bill, Bob, and Fred.A memorial service will be held Saturday March 12, 2016 11:00 A.M. at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service, 4668 Pioneer Trail at the corner of St. Rt. 44, Mantua, Ohio 44255 with Rev. Edward Stafford officiating. Friends and family are invited to visit from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services at the funeral home. Military honors will be provided by the U.S. Navy Honor Guard, assisted by members of Mantua American Legion Post No. 193.
