Louis “Lou” Nathan Sabarese, Jr., 63, of Mantua, passed away Tuesday, November 1, 2022, two days before his 64th birthday, after a brave yearlong battle with stomach cancer. Lou was born on November 3, 1958, in Cleveland, Ohio, the son of the late Louis and Florence “Sue” (Mekara) Sabarese, Sr. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Donna Sabarese. He is survived by his sister, Sharon Sabarese of Rootstown and his beloved niece, Sara Sabarese Carter. He also leaves many loving family members and friends. Lou graduated from Crestwood High School in 1977. He was employed by Akron Beacon Journal and worked as a security guard in Newbury, Ohio. Lou brought out the light heartedness in people and made everyone smile. He knew how to make people laugh with his infectious sense of humor. He loved animals and always took wonderful care of the family pets over the years. He was a dedicated Cleveland Browns, Cavaliers, and Guardians fan. Lou had fond memories with his sister Donna, cousins, and close friends who called themselves the JD “Jack Daniels” Gang. He loved attending classic Rock n’ Roll tribute concerts at Lock 3 in Akron which was a tradition with his niece Sara during the summer. He enjoyed outdoor activities including playing baseball, swimming at West Branch State Park, yard games, and bonfires. Everyone who knew Lou will cherish the happy memories they had with him. Calling hours will be Sunday, November 6, 2022 at The Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service, 4668 Pioneer Trail , at the corner of St. Rt. 44, Mantua, Ohio, 44255, from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. Mass of Christian burial will be held Monday, November 7, 2022, 11:00 A.M. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Mantua, Ohio, with Father Joseph Ruggieri officiating. (EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT THE CHURCH). Final resting place to follow at Westlawn Cemetery, Mantua Twp., Ohio.
