Louise Rose Garrett's Obituary
"Louise Rose Garrett, age 79, passed away on March 8, 2024.
Louise was born on July 10, 1944 in Cleveland, Ohio and was a lifelong resident of Northeast Ohio. Over the years she worked as a histology technician at several local hospitals and even worked in a veterinarian office at one point.
She loved playing card and board games with her friends and family, her weekly bingo games at the community room, completing crossword puzzles, and watching game shows – often putting the contestants to shame. She was an avid gardener and sci-fi movie fan, loved a good deal, the QVC shopping channel, and thrift stores. Her love of shopping extended beyond herself though, as she was always on the lookout for the perfect gift for her loved ones or anything she knew they needed. At Christmas time, she made sure no one went without a present at holiday parties, whether she knew them or not. She was also a fashionista, always wearing bright colors and patterns and the perfect accessories (most of which she got “for a great deal”).
Her favorite thing though was spending time with her family. She was happiest when surrounded by her loved ones, eating a good meal and having great conversation. Anyone who spent time talking to Louise knew how proud she was of her children and grandchildren. She was her grandchildren’s biggest fan; attending and cheering them on in their after-school activities growing up, including nearly all 4H equestrian competitions for her granddaughter, Carly, and all their milestones and birthdays. All she wanted in life was for her loved ones to be happy.
Louise is preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Eleanor Wendrowicz, and grandson, Chase Baxter.
She is survived by her children, Don (Sue) Zimmerman and Lee (Steve) Baxter; grandchildren, Scott, Celeste, Drew, and Carly; sister, Geraldine (Harley) Hoff; many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends; and grandpups Luna, Bolt, and Poppy.
Visitation for Louise will take place Thursday, March 14, 2024 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Green Funeral Care, 4668 Pioneer Trail (at the corner of St. Rt 44), Mantua, OH. Services will be held Friday, March 15, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with services led by Rev. Don Bolich. Interment to follow at Restland Cemetery in Brimfield, OH. Guests are encouraged to dress casually in their best bright colors and patterns."
