Margaret E. Woodson's Obituary
AURORA Margaret E. Woodson, 79 years of age, a longtime resident of Aurora, passed away Monday July 20, 2009 at Hillcrest Hospital in Mayfield Hts., Ohio. Mrs. Woodson was born in Cleveland, Ohio on August 21, 1929 the daughter of the late Charles and Stella (Cloonan) Montague. A homemaker, she was a former member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help-Catholic Church. Mrs. Woodson was a very talented seamstress, having made much of the clothing for her children as they grew up, and then also for her grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking for her family, gardening and truly loved nature including watching the hummingbirds and squirrels and deer. On June 24, 1948 she married Gilbert E. Woodson, Sr. who survives at their home. Also surviving are her children Gilbert E. (Christine) Woodson, Jr. of Streetsboro, Charlene Woodson of Cincinnati, Caren (Ivan) Horner of Rootstown, Cathleen (Glen) Mitchell of Florida, Cynthia (Joseph) Ruyten of Rootstown, Claudia "Dee Dee" Woodson of Valley City and Cheryl (Clyde-"Butch") Berg of Diamond, her brother Fred (Irene) Montague of Independence, 15 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 3 brothers and her grandson Ivan "Trey" Horner. Funeral services will be Friday July 24, 2009 at 12:00 Noon at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service in Mantua, where visitation will be Friday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services. Rev. Fr. Michael Garvey will officiate. Mrs. Woodson will be laid to rest at Aurora City Cemetery with her children respectively acting as pallbearers for Mom.
