Marian T. Mallory's Obituary
GARRETTSVILLEMarian T. Mallory, 95 years of age, passed away Friday May 4, 2012 at her residence. Born in Freedom Township, Ohio on December 11, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Maude (Slagle) Thomas. A homemaker, Mrs. Mallory had also assisted her late husband in the operation of the family business in Garrettsville. Active with both Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts, she will be remembered for her unselfish service to the Portage Animal Protective League where she served on the Board of Directors. A lifetime area resident, she was a former longtime member of the Freedom Congregational Church. Marian loved all animals, especially cats, and found that combined with her love of family, to be a major portion of her life. In addition, spending time gardening and flowers were other interests she shared. On March 11, 1937, she married Roger S. Mallory who preceded her in death on January 21. 2002. Also preceding her were siblings Blanche Hill, Ruth Grove, Florence Lange, Doris Cain and Mildred Barton, and several of her "Mallory Feline Family". She is survived by her children Roger Thomas Mallory of Columbus, Ohio, Patricia Ann Mallory of Garrettsville, nieces and nephews and her loving 4-legged children. Visitation will be Thursday May 10, 2012 from 6:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M. at the Green family Funeral Home & Crematory Service in Mantua, where her funeral service will begin at 7:00 P.M. with Pastor Daniel Brawn and Pastor Joseph Propri officiating. Mrs. Mallory will be laid to rest Friday May 11, 2012 at Park Cemetery in Garrettsville at 2:30 P.M.(Everyone Please Meet At The Cemetery).In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial donations in her name to the Portage APL, P.O.Box 927,Ravenna,Ohio 44266 or to Happy Trail Farms Animal Sanctuary, 5623 New Milford Road, Ravenna, Ohio 44266.
