Marie Duffield's Obituary
Marie Duffield, 89 years of age, became Our Gift to God on Wednesday July 10, 2013 at Robinson Memorial Hospital in Ravenna, Ohio. Mrs. Duffield was God's Gift to Us on September 24, 1923, in Strange Creek, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Charlie and Vera (Johnson) Nottingham. Mrs. Duffield was a homemaker who had been a resident of the Garrettsville-Nelson area since 1952. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, canning and traveling with her late husband Grover prior to his death in 1999, following 55 years of marriage.Mrs. Duffield was a member of Faith Evangelical Church, and found sharing with family and friends what the Lord had done for her a special meaning to her presence on earth. Survivors include her children Norman (Cherryl) Duffield, Duane (Teri) Duffield and Retha ( James R.)Petrick all of Nelson Township, her siblings Ferrell Nottingham, Dana (Joanne) Nottingham, Brantie (Minnie) Nottingham and Bertha Sirk, all of Strange Creek, Laura Harold of Georgia and Lona (Virgil) Sanders of Nelson Township, 9 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her siblings John and Fred Nottingham, Mabel Westbrook, Mamie Sears and Mae Dennison.Calling hours will be Sunday at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service in Mantua from 6:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M., where her funeral service will be held Monday July 15, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. Officiating will be Pastor Peter King, assisted by Pastor Roy Mack. Final resting place will follow at Harrington Cemetery in Nelson Township.
