Marie Harris' Obituary
WINDHAM Marie (Carpenter) Harris, 92 years of age, a longtime Windham area resident, became Our gift to God on Friday November 13, 2009 at her residence. Marie was God's Gift to Us on March 28, 1917 in Keene Township, Ohio the daughter of the late Chester G. and Sarah (Hackenbracht) Randles. Marie was employed for 10 years at Robinson Memorial Hospital in Ravenna as a nurse's aide, and as a Realtor for Realty One in Garrettsville for 20 years. She enjoyed gardening, raising flowers and the special times spent with her family. She was a member of the Church Of The Nazarene in Windham. Survivors include her children Victor Carpenter of Mexico, Frank Carpenter, Larry Carpenter and C. Russ (Rev. Dorothy) Carpenter all of Braceville, Gary (Inge) Carpenter of Garrettsville, Thomas (Phyllis) Carpenter of Mt. Vernon, Ohio, Roger (Wanda) Carpenter of Newark, Ohio, James (Roberta) Carpenter of Michigan and George (Darlene) Carpenter of Windham; her brothers Bill and Don Randles, sister Ada Haines and many loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren also survive. Marie was preceded in death by her first husband Frank L. Carpenter in 1968, her second husband Harold "Buck" Harris in 2003, her daughter Sarah "Sally" Synecky in 2006, 4 brothers Lester, Clarence, Paul and Kenneth Randles and 3 sisters Myrtle Alsop, Esther Pickrell and Ruth Zetty. Calling hours will be Monday from 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service in Mantua, where her funeral service will be held Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at 11:00 A.M., with her grandson Rev. Jerry Carpenter officiating. Marie will be laid to rest beside her loving husband Frank L. Carpenter at Windham Township Cemetery. Memorials are suggested in her name to the Hospice of Robinson Memorial Hospital.
