Marilyn J. Kube's Obituary
SHALERSVILLE-MANTUA Marilyn J. Kube, 76 years of age, passed away Wednesday October 13, 2010. She was born on November 15, 1933 in Brookville, Pennsylvania to the late John E. and Eleanor (Weber) McQuown.Marilyn married Robert "Bob" Kube in May of 1957 and lived in Shalersville for the past 53 years. Bob preceded her in death on October 10, 2005. She is survived by her daughters, Julie (Richard) Kube-Oberzan of Charleston, South Carolina, Susan "Susie" Kube and Ellie (Rich) Boyer both of Shalersville and also her grandchildren Mark (Samantha) Pochedly of Freedom and Andy and Hannah Boyer. Marilyn leaves behind her dear 'baby' sister and closest friend Nancy (Ray) Haney of Brookville, Pennsylvania, her brother, John E. (Charlotte) McQuown, Jr. of Corsica, Pennsylvania, a large extended family and many long time friends. Preceding her in death was her sister Elizabeth (Sheldon) Rossey. Marilyn worked for the Crestwood School System for almost 25 years before retiring in 1993. She enjoyed gardening, camping, drinking beer and playing pinochle with her family. She also loved riding Harleys and traveling with her husband Bob in their motor home. She was a longtime member of Mystic Chapter No. 32 Order of the Eastern Star and presently a member of Crescent Chapter No. 7 Order of the Eastern Star. Memorial visitation will be Tuesday October 19,2010 from 5:00 P.M.-6:00 P.M. at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service in Mantua, where Eastern Star services will begin at 6:00 P.M. Marilyn will be laid to rest with a private family committal at Riverside Cemetery in Shalersville Township.
