Marjorie Beecher's Obituary
HUDSONMarjorie B. Beecher, 98 years of age, passed away Sunday April 26th. 2015 at The Hospice Care Center in Copley, Ohio. Born on May 9, 1916 in Kirksville, Missouri, she was the daughter of the late Manley and Florence (Born) Brandon. A graduate of Kent State University, she formerly resided in Cuyahoga Falls and Salem. Mrs. Beecher had been employed at Sill Jr. High School in Cuyahoga Falls as a Social Studies and English teacher, retiring in 1980.Her love for music and her musical talents were well l known, as seen by her memberships in the Akron Symphony Orchestra, Akron Pops Orchestra, Cleveland Women's Orchestra, Festival String Quartet of Akron, and as a member of the First Congregational Church of Akron where she sang in the church choir. She also was a member of Sigma Kappa Sorority. On December 24, 1942, she married Carl J Beecher who preceded her in death in 1996.Survivors include her daughters Debora (Karl) Stechele of Brunswick, Ohio, Margaret (Jeff) Maurer of Mogadore, Ohio and Becky (Michael) Koscso of Kent, Ohio, grandchildren Karoline (Mike) Turczynskyj and Monika (Kevin) Mayer, and her great-grandchildren Matthew, Katrina, Daniel, Johnathon, Tank, Karly and Henry. No calling hours. Private family burial at Hillside Cemetery, Mantua Village, Ohio. A Memorial Service for Mrs. Beecher will be held Saturday May 9, 2015, 1:00 P.M. at First Congregational Church of Akron, 292 East Market Street, Akron, Ohio 44308.
