Mark Carter's Obituary
Mark Carter, 59, of Mantua, Ohio, passed away peacefully on June 9, 2025, after a
courageous nearly year-long battle with cancer.
He will be remembered for his endless acts of kindness, quiet generosity, and
remarkable talent as a mechanic. Whether it was a car, tractor, four-wheeler, or anything
with a motor, Mark would fix it - never asking for anything in return.
He had a lifelong love for cars as well as his cherished time on beaches, where he
found joy and calm simply relaxing by the water.
Mark is survived by his wife, Mary Carter, his sons, Chris Carter, Matt Needs and
Nathan Harjung, Mother Connie Kuty, and her husband Bob Kuty; his siblings Mathew
Carter (Jennifer), Dawn Carter (Brian) and Stephany Meek; and many beloved nieces,
nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family who loved him dearly.
Mark shared 25 wonderful years of marriage with his wife and best friend, Mary Carter,
who will forever hold him close in her heart. When Mark found Mary, he embraced not
just a partner but a family, and together they created a home of love with their boys.
He will be deeply missed by his cherished cats - Henry, Lenny, and Moo - who were the
lucky recipients of his daily devotion and affection.
As Mark wished, he will be cremated. In lieu of a formal service, an informal celebration
of his life will be held at his home of 11817 Mantua Center Road, Mantua Ohio, on July
26, 2025, at 4:00 PM. Family and friends are invited to gather, share memories, enjoy
good food, and raise a Michelob Light - his favorite beer- in his honor.
Mark touched many lives with his quiet strength, big heart, and generous spirit. He will
be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.
