Marlene Fairbee's Obituary
WINDHAM Marlene Fairbee, 77 years of age, passed away Thursday July 11, 2013 at Robinson Memorial Hospital in Ravenna, Ohio. Born on June 6, 1938 in Garrettsville, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Clella (Spencer) Lawless. A lifetime Garrettsville resident, she was a 1954 graduate of Garrettsville High School. For many years, Mrs. Fairbee would join with a group of her high school "Girls" and meet at the Renaissance Family Center in Windham to share stories of their past and present activities. As a home health care worker, Mrs. Fairbee had formerly been employed at the Portage County Nursing Home for several years, as well as other area homes and facilities. Camping at Cook's Forest, knitting and crocheting were some of her favorites. She was an active member of the Red Hat's and held membership at the Nelson United Methodist Church. On October 16, 1955, she married William Fairbee, Sr. who survives at their home. Also surviving are her children William Fairbee, Jr. of South Bend, Indiana, Robin (April) Fairbee of Xenia, Ohio, David Fairbee of Windham and Paula Turk of Newton Falls, Ohio, her brothers Dick (Harriett) Lawless of Garrettsville, Melvin (Carol) Lawless of Yuma, Arizona and Charles Lawless of South Carolina, 5 grandchildren Erica, Bill, Sarah, Elizabeth and Jessica and 8 great-grandchildren Leeann, Khyler, Dylan, Dominic, Bryce, Carli, Kayle and Cadyn. She was preceded in death by her daughter Theresa "Terri" Driesbaugh and 2 grandchildren Kyle and Marlena. Calling hours will be Monday from 6:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. at the Green family Funeral Home & Crematory Service, St. Rt. 44 at the corner of 4668 Pioneer Trail, Mantua, where her funeral service will be held Tuesday July 16, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Rick Hughes officiating. Final resting place will follow at Windham Township Cemetery.
