Martin R. Pochedly's Obituary
GARRETTSVILLEMartin R. Pochedly, 96 years of age, passed away Wednesday August 11, 2010 at his residence. Born on July 16, 1914 in Shalersville Township, Ohio he was the son of the late Martin R. and Mary (Marek) Pochedly. Martin was born and raised in the Garrettsville area, following which he lived in Cleveland for many years, returning to the Garrettsville area the past 6 years. Martin was a self employed contractor and home builder, as well as the owner-operator of Falconer Mobil Home Park in New York State. He was a woodsman and natural food advocate. On October 4, 1934, he married Mary R. (Marusa) Pochedly who preceded him in death in 2003. Survivors include his children Kenneth (Leona) Pochedly of Cleveland, Leslie (Phyllis) Pochedly of Atlanta, Georgia, Raymond Pochedly of Portland, Oregon, James A. Pochedly of Garrettsville and Susan Huntley of Youngstown; his brother James J. (Mary Jane) Pochedly of Hiram and sister Charlotte Jewell of Garrettsville and 4 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister Christine Pochedly and Brothers Carl, Matthew, Charles and Albert Pochedly. No calling hours. Cremation has taken place.A gathering of family and friends will be held on Wednesday August 18, 2010 from 11:00 A.M.-1:00 P.M. at the picnic area of Randy Pochedly, 10328 Stamm Rd., and Freedom Township. Arrangements are by the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service in Mantua.
