Marvin Litz's Obituary
Marvin Litz age 79 passed away Thursday January 1st, 2026 after a long illness. Born January, 22nd 1946 in Clearfield, PA to Rudolph and Norma Litz. Marvin lived the majority of his life as a resident of Mantua and Portage County, OH.
Marvin was a devoted and loving husband of 56 years to Linda Jean Litz(Kessler). He served in the U.S. Army-Airbourne Division during the Vietnam War and later worked for Davey Tree. He was a well-honored member of the Knights of Columbus of the 3rd & 4th degree and also very active in his church.
Marvin enjoyed numerous hobbies including model trains, gardening, bird watching, woodworking and fishing with his grandchildren.
As an avid woodworker and craftsman he built many birdhouses and projects for Linda in their home. He took great pride in creating things for his family and friends.
Marvin's memories are survived by his loving wife Linda, daughter Cynthia Hovey (Matthew) of Virgina, son Rudy Litz of Mantua, grandchildren Eric, Emily, great grandchildren Leiah, Emma, Demi, sister Juanita Farber (Bob) of Kentucky, sister in-law Betty Litz of Youngstown along with several in-laws of Linda's siblings, extended family and close friends. He is predeceased by his parents, brothers Martin and Robert, sisters Sharon and Rose.
Marvin will be remembered for his devotion to family, greetings with a smile, his willingness to always lend a hand and his own special humor.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Tuesday January 6th from 2-6pm at Green Funeral Care - 4668 Pioneer Trail, Mantua.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday January 7th, 11a.m at St Joseph's Catholic Church, Mantua (Please Meet At Church) with interment to follow at West Lawn Cemetery 3199 Rt. 82 Mantua.
Marvin's family is forever grateful for the comfort and support shown through the many lives he touched.
