Mary V. Ball's Obituary
WINDHAMMary V. Ball 87 years of age of Windham, passed away Friday January 30, 2009 at Robinson Memorial Hospital in Ravenna. Mrs. Ball was born on August 27, 1921 in Newburg, West Virginia the daughter of the late Oscar and Beulah (Wolfe) Larew. Formerly of West Virginia, she was a resident of the Windham area since 1953. Mrs. Ball was employed at Noble Shoe Company in Warren, following which she was manager of Howard Johnson's Restaurant of the Ohio Turnpike and then worked at Hiram College for several years. She enjoyed growing flowers, crocheting, canning and most importantly spending time with her family. Mrs. Ball remained the "Head Cook" for all of the family dinners and insisted that her children and other family members be seated and that she would see that dinner was on the table. On August 7, 1939 she married George Ball who preceded her in death in 1999. Also preceding her in death was her brother, Ronald Larew. Survivors include her son, George W. "Bill" Ball of Windham, daughters, Betty J. Maguire and Mary (Rodney) Armentrout both of Kingsport, Tennessee; brothers, Herbert Larew of West Virginia and Richard Larew of Vienna, Ohio; and sister, Madeline (George) 0'Reilly of Virginia . Mrs. Ball is also survived by her loving grandchildren, Ginger A. (Dale) Belnap of Windham, Melaine A. (Greg) Athey of Hartville,0hio, Richard P. (Missy) Maguire of Williston, Florida, R. Scott (Shiela) Armentrout of Kingsport, Tennessee and Amy A. (Robert) Proffitt of Johnson City, Tennessee and great-grandchildren, George and William Armentrout and Angelina and Gunner Maguire. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 6:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service in Mantua, where funeral services will be Wednesday February 4, 2009 at 11:00 A.M.
