Mary Alyce Bickel's Obituary
RAVENNA TWP. Mary Alyce Bickel, 69 years of age, a resident of Ravenna Township and Shalersville Township since 1973, passed away Saturday December 5, 2009 at Robinson Memorial Hospital in Ravenna. Mrs. Bickel was born in Oil City, Pennsylvania on April 29, 1940 the daughter of the late Stanley and Kathryn (Duarte) Graham. A homemaker, she was employed formerly at Three S Express in North Lima, Ohio as an office and clerical worker. Mrs. Bickel was a member of Portage Faith United Methodist Church, the Red Hat Society and for over 10 years served as a poll worker for the Portage County Board of Elections. She enjoyed baking cookies, spending time with her family and especially her grandson's activities. Mary will be remembered as a lady who wrote special notes to family and friends of appreciation for anything that anyone did for her. On April 2, 1960, she married Raymond A. Bickel who survives at their home. Also surviving is her son Keith R. (Jenny) Bickel of Shalersville, her daughters Kimberly Schwesinger of Mantua and Kristi (Phillip) Soencksen of Grayslake, Illinois, one sister Linda D. (Gerald) Beichner of Leeper, Pennsylvania and her six grandsons Paul, Graham, Matthew, Kyle, Kurt and Zachary. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 6:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service in Mantua, where funeral services will be Wednesday December 9, 2009 at 10:30 A.M. with Rev. Carolyn Berry officiating. At her request, cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Portage Faith United Methodist Church, 9922 St. Rt. 44, Mantua, Ohio 44255.
