Mary Jane Stevens' Obituary
Mary Jane Stevens (nee Horner), age 81 of Shalersville Twp., passed away at her residence, surrounded by her family on Tuesday, July 23, 2024. Born on April 20, 1943 in Washington, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late James and Blanch (Anderson) Horner.
Mary Jane enjoyed watching games shows on television, playing games on her tablet and telephone and getting her nails and hair done. She was an avid fan of Elvis Presley and the Pittsburgh Steelers. Mary Jane was often affectionately referred to as "Saint Mary" because she was always taking care of others. She knew the importance of family and cherished spending time with her children, grandchildren and fishing with her late husband, David, who preceded her in death in 2016.
Mary Jane is survived by her daughters Tammy McCabe (the late Tim), Shelly Stevens, Connie Rutter (Ken), and Jamie Stevens; grandchildren, Alicia, Austin, Taylor, Nevaeh, Serenity and Onyx; great grandchildren, Landon and Aurora; and a sister Dusty Barker and many neices and nephews. Along with her parents and husband, she is also preceeded in death by her siblings James Horner, Ellen Horner, Donald Horner, Patty Horner, Walt Horner, Virginia Reese, Charles Horner and Danny Horner.
The family will gather for visitation on Saturday, August 3, 2024 at Green Funeral Care, 4668 Pioneer Trail (at the corner of St. Rt. 44) from 12 - 2 PM., followed by a Memorial Service at 2PM.
A reception will immediately follow at Shalersville Town Hall, 9090 St. Rt. 44, Ravenna, OH 44266
