Melissa “Mimi” Staff, 55 years of age, passed away Wednesday June 26, 2019 at her residence. Born in Bedford, Ohio on October 2, 1963, she is the daughter of Gary R. and Velva G. (Wilson) Martell. She grew up in Bainbridge Township, Ohio, and was a 1982 graduate of Kenston High School. She had been employed at Kenston High School in the cafeteria where she was known as the “ Lunch Lady”. Mimi was the receptionist at Ullman Oil in Auburn, where her smile and positive attitude was the overriding factor in the smooth daily operations of the company. Since 2017, she was the owner-operator of Zeppe’s Pizza in Highland Hts. Mimi truly loved people, her contagious laugh and infectious smile became the face of a lady whose passing will be truly missed by all who had the opportunity to know and love her. The world has been a better place because of her presence even if her time was shortened on earth. On April 6, 1985, she married her beloved husband Duane Staff who survives at their home. She is also survived by her devoted daughters Nickie ( J.R. Drnak) Staff of Streetsboro and Ashley (Andrew) Profeta of Chardon; her cherished parents Velva and Gary Martell of Bainbridge Twp.; her dear sisters Lucy Kelley and Marcia Hargis both of Mantua and Rose Martell of Auburn; and her loving grandchildren Tony, Zoey and Vinny. She was preceded in death by her dear sister Paula Moodie. Calling hours will be Tuesday July 2, 2019 at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service, 4668 Pioneer Trail at the corner of St. Rt. 44 (S. of Rt. 422) Mantua, Ohio 44255 from 1:00 P.M.-4:00 P.M., where her funeral service will begin at 4:00 P.M. Officiating will be Mr. Marvin Creel. Immediately following her funeral service, family and friends are invited to please join for a time of fellowship at Adams Hall on Washington Street in Auburn Twp. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Geauga Human Society-Rescue Village, 15463 Chillicothe Rd., Russell Twp., Ohio 44072.
