Michael Fortz, Jr's Obituary
Garrettsville - Michael Fortz, Jr. 63 years of age of Garrettsville, passed away Sunday March 22, 2009 at Kent Health Care. Mr. Fortz was born on June 1, 1945 in Martins Ferry, Ohio the son of the late Michael and Ida (Leach) Fortz, Sr. A longtime resident of the Garrettsville-Windham areas, he was a self employed truck driver. Mr. Fortz was a former member of the Garrettsville Eagles and enjoyed hunting, fishing, 4-wheeling, the outdoors, drag strip racing and NASCAR racing and taking time with his grandchildren to share and teach them the same activities. Survivors include his children, Samantha (Michael) Lougen of Mantua, Barbara Fortz of Hiram and Jaclyn (Jason Cottrell) Fortz of Stow; his sister, Mary Ann Zerucha of Greensville and 6 grandchildren. His brother, Robert L. Fortz preceded him in death. At his request cremation has taken place.
