Michael A. Kondik, Jr's Obituary
MANTUA Dr. Michael A. Kondik, Jr., 81 years of age, passed away Monday June 17, 2013 at the Gardens of Western Reserve in Streetsboro, Ohio. Born on August 16, 1931 in Mantua, Ohio, he was the son of the late Michael A. and Mary (Lechner) Kondik, Sr. A longtime Mantua resident, Dr. Kondik was a 1949 graduate of Benedictine High School, following which he attended and graduated in 1953 from John Carroll University. He then attended Kansas City College of Osteopathic Medicine, graduating in 1957. Dr. Kondik opened his first family medical practice in Mentor, Ohio in the 1960's, and later joined his brother William Kondik in their family medical practice in Mantua, retiring in 1985. He was an avid Model A vintage car collector, and enjoyed restoring antique tools. Dr. Kondik also became well versed in American History finding enjoyment sharing his knowledge with family and friends. He held memberships in various Professional Medical Associations, was a member of the NRA and the Hungarian Culture Club in Fairport Harbor. Preceding him in death was his first wife Virginia Mae Kondik in 1985, and his brother Dr. William Kondik and nephew Timothy Kondik. Survivors include his sons Dale (Sharon) Kondik of Chagrin Falls, Ohio, Michael A. (Susan) Kondik of Milford, Massachusetts, his daughter Theresa Suttleworth of Madison, Ohio, his step-son John (Shannon) Lesnak of Mantua, grandchildren Michael, Gabrielle, Weston, Nolan, Kyle, Cody, Casey and Kayla and great-grandchild Zoey.Cremation has taken place. Memorial calling hours will be Thursday June 20, 2013 from 6:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service, St. Rt. 44 at the corner of 4668 Pioneer Trail (S. of Rt. 422) Mantua.
