Michael A Labate's Obituary
AUBURN TWP.-KENT Michael A. Labate, 69 years of age, passed away Tuesday June 6, 2017 at his residence. Born in Cleveland, Ohio on June 10, 1947, he was the son of the late Arthur S. and Grace (Davis) Labate. Michael grew up in the North Hill area of Akron, and was a graduate of North High School. A longtime resident of Auburn Township, he had resided in Kent the past two plus years, and had formerly been employed as a barber at Ink?s Barber Shop in Kent for several years. Later he was employed as a Government Security Officer. He had attended The First Baptist Church of Streetsboro. Michael loved classic cars, attending car shows, and his children will forever cherish the memories of dad taking them to the movies, and of his love for them, and their love for dad. Survivors include his son Kevin (Stefanie) Labate of Aurora; daughters Kimberly (Duane) Angle of Katy, Texas and Melinda Labate of Greenbay, Wisconsin; siblings Steve (Becky) Labate of Alliance, Marc Labate, Marta MacClellan of Ellet, Ohio and Nina. 5 grandchildren also survive. He was preceded in death by his wife Dolores F. Labate on March 2, 2011.Visitation will be Sunday June 11, 2017 from 1:00 P.M.-3:00 P.M. at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service, 4668 Pioneer Trail at the corner of St.Rt. 44, Mantua, Ohio 44255, where his funeral service will begin at 3:00 P.M. A graveside burial will take place on Monday June 12, 2017, 10:00 A.M. at Westlawn Cemetery, St.Rt. 82, Mantua Township, Ohio. Immediately following the burial on Monday a reception will be held for family and friends at the Aurora Inn, corner of Rt. 82 and 306, Aurora, Ohio.
