Mildred Mae Rhodes' Obituary
STREETSBOROMildred Mae Rhodes, 96 years of age, became Our Gift to God on Thursday February 2, 2012 at the Cleveland Clinic Hospital. Mrs. Rhodes was God's Gift to Us on November 12, 1915 in Huntingdon, Pennsylvania the daughter of the late Berton and Sadie (Bradley) Steele. A resident of Maple Hts. since 1955, she moved to Streetsboro in 2006. Mrs. Rhodes retired in 1984 from Revco Drug in Shaker Hts. where she was a valued employee as a cashier and stock worker. A longtime member of the Maple Hts. Presbyterian Church, Mrs. Rhodes was active with the church choir,Senior Friendship Club, prayer chain and coffee breakers. While reading, gardening, singing, cooking and playing the piano were pleasures she enjoyed, her very special times will always be remembered as those spent with her loving family. Mrs. Rhodes was preceded in death by her husband Edwin E. Rhodes in 1961, her daughter Judith Collins on January 20, 2012 and her siblings David and Robert Steele and Florence Jackson. She is survived by her loving daughters Carol Rhodes of Middlefield and Betty (Bud) Bednar of Shalersville, her brother Eugene Steele of Dewittville, New York , 4 cherished grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Calling hours will be Sunday from 5:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M. at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service in Mantua, where her funeral service will be held Monday February 6, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. with Pastor Bobbie Davis-Newhouse officiating. Mrs. Rhodes will then be laid to rest at Crown Hill Cemetery in Twinsburg,Ohio.
