Nancy Lynn Thompson's Obituary
Nancy Lynn Thompson, age 69 of Windham, Ohio Passed away on August 8th 2023.
Nancy was a graduate of Windham High school,class of 1972. She worked at BillMar Turkey farm in Garrettsville Ohio and made great friends there. After it closed she attended and graduated from the Akron Machining Institute, and was then employed at Rotek in Aurora. After a decade she changed careers and found her passion at work with Independence of Portage County. Over the years there she helped countless individuals and mentored many fellow staff members. She retired from Independence after 20 years.
Preceded in death by her parents Lindley Earl Thompson and Emma A Thompson and nephew Roger "Lil' Roger" Thompson. Survived by her daughters Sarah John and partner Dave; Abby John and partner Bryan and grandson Kyle; Stepson Justin Nenzoski and wife Tonia and grandchildren Savanna, Jaxon, Kane, and Natalie. Brothers Tom Thompson, nephews Darren and Mark and niece Becky; Roger Thompson and wife Tyra and nieces Yvonne and Kimberly.
Nancy loved music. She played the french horn in her school years. And was the Organist for the Windham Congregational United Church of Christ where her church family not only enjoyed her music but her side commentary as well.
Her humor, intelligence, quick wit, and sarcasm made her a favorite conversationalist of all who knew her. Laughter surrounded her. She was an animal lover and had many pets over the years. Her most recent dog Wicket brought her so much joy and companionship.
Calling hours will be held at the Windham Congregational United Church of Christ at 9029 N. Main St. Windham Oh 44288 on Sunday August 13th, 2023 from 2pm to 4pm. Services will be at 4pm.
A reception dinner will be held at the Brick Chapel 9003 N. Main St. Windham OH 44288 at 5pm. The family would like to invite you to come celebrate her life and mourn her loss together.
