Naomi M Shanholtzer's Obituary
MANTUA-SHALERSVILLE Naomi M. "Grandma Shan" Shanholtzer, 93 years of age, became Our Gift to God on Sunday March 21, 2010 at Longmeadow Care Center in Ravenna, Ohio. Mrs. Shanholtzer was God's Gift to Us on July 20, 1916 in Romney, West Virginia the daughter of the late Herbert and Ollie (Evertt) Bean. A resident of the Mantua-Shalersville area since 1960, she was a homemaker, and enjoyed reading, quilting, baking and embroidery. "Grandma Shan" raised a family of loving children, and found the greatest moments of her life were those spent with her loving family. She was a member of Portage Faith United Methodist Church. Mrs. Shanholtzer was preceded in death by her husband Herman in 1972, her son John in 1961 and daughter Rebecca Ann Perry in 2005, 2 grandchildren Michael and Kevin and her sister Vivian Bowman. Survivors include her children Janice Rutherford and Karen (John) Harper both of Mantua, Dorothy (Jack) Horner of Hiram, Barbara Kylin of Westerville, Ohio, Gerald (Patricia) of Tennessee, David (Linda) of Chagrin Falls, Larry of West Virginia and Eugene (Doris) of Ravenna; sisters Glenna Stickley of West Virginia and Nida Wolford of Virginia; her brother Donald Bean of Virginia; 28 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6:00 P.M.-7:30 P.M. at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service in Mantua, where Rev. Carolyn Berry will officiate at her funeral service beginning at 7:30 P.M. Mrs. Shanholtzer will be laid to rest Saturday March 27, 2010 at 9:00 A.M. at Ebenezer Cemetery in Romney, West Virginia. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the cemetery. The family of "Grandma Shan" would like to extend their appreciation to her special aides Barbie, Patty, Momma Patty, Courtney, Leslie and to her special roommate Betty Kent for all of their acts of kindness and love.
