Nicholas Mackle's Obituary
RAVENNANicholas F. Mackle, 86 years of age, passed away Tuesday September 25, 2012 at Maison Aine in Stow, Ohio. Born in Cleveland, Ohio on May 8, 1926, he was the son of the late Nicholas and Elizabeth (Juhasz) Mackle.A longtime resident of the Ravenna area, Mr. Mackle, along with his wife Dorothea, operated Mackle Printing in Ravenna for over 50 years. H also worked on the family farm which sold pumpkins, Nick often giving additional pumpkins to those who stopped at the farm. Nick proudly served his country in World War II as a medic in the U.S. Army. He held memberships in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Ravenna and the Knights of Columbus, Ravenna Council. A man who enjoyed fixing anything, his printing press seemed to always be running, with Nick going out of his way to assist any customer be it during normal working hours, or on a weekend with a special request. He leaves his family a legacy of honesty, hard work ethic and a family man who loved attending and supporting his children and grandchildren in all of their sporting events. On July 16,1955, he married Dorothea C. (Cristino) Mackle who survives at their home. Also surviving are his children Nicholas (Georgie) Mackle of Malvern, Ohio, Joseph (Sue) Mackle of Ravenna and Monica (Robert) Morson of Kent, his sisters Betty Mishler of Mantua and Jean (Richard) White of New Hampshire, and his grandchildren Steven (Megan), Andrew, Raquel, Robert, Leland and Nick. He was preceded in death by his sisters Ann DeFluiter and Marge South. Cremation has taken place. Mr. Mackle will be laid to rest at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio on Friday October 19, 2012 at 10:30 A.M. with full military honors. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorials in his name to the D.A.V. Arrangements are by the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service in Mantua.
