Nicholas Yoder's Obituary
KENT Nicholas J. Yoder, 30 years of age, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday Nove3mber 16, 2014 at Akron General Medical Center in Akron, Ohio. Born in Ravenna,Ohio on November 5, 1984, he was the son of H.J. and Kimberly ( Colescott) Yoder. A longtime resident of Kent, he was a 2003 graduate of Kent Roosevelt High School. While in high school, he played the position of catcher, and also at Mt. Union College for 1 year. He was a graduate of Kent State University in T.E.S.L. Nick had lived in New York for 2 years, and for the past 5 years had resided in San Diego, California where he was employed as a chef. Nick lived life to the fullest, including traveling worldwide and teaching for a period of time in Mexico. His many talents included raising chickens, gardening, sharing his appreciation of life with friends and family in all of his 30 years. He was considered by all who knew him as a " Connoisseur of Beer" with Mother Earth Brewing Company Lager being a favorite. His motto was " Live Life To The Fullest" and forever will be remembered for his personality and contagious smile. Survivors include his mother Kim Yoder of Kent, his father H.J. ( Laura Owen )Yoder of Mantua, his brothers David ( Chavon ) Yoder of Mantua, Robert ( Veronica Walker ) Yoder of Brimfield and Matt ( Andrea) Yoder of Savannah, Georgia, grandmother Luellen Yoder of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, his cherished companion Clarissa Reyes of San Diego, California and many other loving family and friends. Preceding him in death were his grandparents Bill and Teresa Colescott and on November 18, 2014 his grandfather Harold Yoder. Funeral services will be held Friday November 21, 2014 at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service in Mantua at 12:00 Noon, where calling hours will be held from 10:00 a.m. until service time. Final resting place will follow at Westlawn Cemetery in Mantua Township. In lieu of flowers,memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice with donation envelopes available at the funeral home.
