Norma Simpson's Obituary
HIRAMNorma J. Simpson, 83 years of age, passed away Tuesday October 28, 2014 at Robinson Memorial Hospital in Ravenna, Ohio. Born in Windham, Ohio on May 3, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Sylvia ( Strait ) Carroll. A homemaker, Norma was a 1949 graduate of North Jackson High School. A resident of the Hiram area since 1956, she was a member of the Mantua Center Christian Church. Norma dedicated her life to raising her family and found total contentment with that and the 65 years of marriage that she and her loving husband Van shared as they were married on November 5, 1949. She is survived by her husband Van Simpson, Jr. at home, her children Van ( Patty) Simpson, III of Wooster, Ohio, Mark (Sandy) Simpson of Garrettsville, Vicki ( Gil ) Krohn of Mantua and Diane Sparacio of Warren, Ohio. Also surviving are her sisters Edna Walton of Portage County, Dorothy Carroll of Ravenna, Katherine Edwards of South Carolina, and 14 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother Vernon Carroll and sisters Frances Basil, Maye Troyer and Eileen Modula. No calling hours. Private family services are being held at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service in Mantua with Rev. Chad Delaney officiating. Private family resting place will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Hiram, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorials to the Mantua Center Christian Church in her name.
