MANTUA
Opal L. Miner, 89 years of age, passed away Monday July 23, 2018 at Aurora, Ohio. Born in Ravenna, Ohio on November 30, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Leo J. and Lois D. (Rogers) Gless. Mrs. Miner was a lifetime resident of the Mantua area, and a graduate of Shalersville High School. She was the bookkeeper and ran the family farm with her husband John Thomas Miner until retirement. A longtime member of the Annevar Garden Club, she enjoyed cooking, travel, casino trips, and an avid card player especially playing cards with her grandchildren where she was always the winner. On July 19, 1952, she married John T. Miner who preceded her in death on April 11, 2014. Survivors include her children Steven (Betty) Miner of Mantua, Donald (Donna) Miner of Windham, John Robert (Carol) Miner of Warrington, Pennsylvania, Diane Carmen of Garrettsville and Barbara (Donal) Bryant of Mantua. Also surviving are her sister Ruth (Raymond) Newberger of Ravenna, 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and special sister-in-law Janet Scott of Richmond, Virginia. Cremation has taken place. Memorial visitation will be Friday July27, 2018 at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service, 4668 Pioneer Trail at the corner of St. Rt. 44, Mantua, Ohio 44255 from 4:00 P.M.-6:00 P.M. where her memorial service will begin at 6:00 P.M.
