Opaline L. Dean's Obituary
GARRETTSVILLE Opaline L. Prince Dean. 86 years of age, passed away Friday May 19, 2017 at her residence with her loving family by her side. Born in Falls Mills, West Virginia on March 28, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Gordon and Retha (Bowyer) Dyer. She had been a resident of the Garrettsville-Windham area the past 56 years, and was a member of the Windham Bible Church. Mrs. Dean had been employed at Hiram College for over 24 years where she served as catering manager. She will always be remembered as a ?Lady Who Loved Life?, and enjoyed gardening, going to auctions, bowling, playing cards, traveling to casinos, and was an avid Cleveland Cavalier fan, LeBron James being her man. She loved her family just as much as they loved her, and the memories that mom and her family created will never be forgotten. Survivors include her husband Buddy Prince of West Virginia; her children Ricky Joe (Donna) Dean and Nancy Dean both of Garrettsville, Brenda (Mike) Kish of Braceville, Joan (Lynn) Cochran of Webster Springs, West Virginia, Sandra (Glenn) Spencer of Hiram, Darlene (Ron) Nicholas and Lisa Meyer both of North Bloomfield; her brothers Gary Dyer of West Virginia, Terry Dyer of North Carolina, Verl Dyer of Maryland; sisters Wilma Sands of West Virginia and Karen Dyer of Texas. 15 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by her first husband Hermit E. Dean, Sr. in 1996, her sons Hermit E. ?Bub? Dean, Jr. in 2010 and Wendell Dean; brothers Leonard and Elwood Dyer, sisters Velda Taylor, Ila Hamilton and Freda Buchman, and her grandson Richard Dyer. Funeral services will be Wednesday May 24, 2017, 1:00 P.M. at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service, 4668 Pioneer Trail at the corner of St.Rt. 44, Mantua, Ohio 44255, where visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M. until service time. Officiating will be Pastor Chad Froelich. Final resting place will follow at Park Cemetery, Garrettsville, Ohio.
