MANTUA
Patricia A. Smith, 83 years of age, was our Gift to God, on Tuesday, October 26, 2021, at UH-Portage Medical Center in Ravenna, Ohio. Pat was God’s Gift to Us, on September 11, 1938, at Akron, Ohio, the daughter of the late Edwin and Marie ( Beierwaltus) Sadon. Mrs. Smith was a 1956 graduate of St. Vincent High School in Akron, and had been a resident of Mantua since 1960. A faithful, and very active member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Mantua, she had been a 1st grade teacher’s aide at her church for over 30 years. Always caring for others, Pat was involved in Prison Ministry both in Portage and Trumbull counties. She also was a member of Friends of Bob and Bill for many years. Pat and Tom served their church whenever called upon, and their love of both God, and their family, will forever be cherished by those who remain. On June 1, 1957, she married her beloved husband Thomas J. Smith who survives at their home. Also surviving are her devoted children, Mark (Linda) Smith of Mantua, Michael (Michelle) Smith of Lakewood, Theresa Knight of Tallmadge; dear brother Edwin (Lunora) Sadon of Cuyahoga Falls; loving grandchildren, Thomas (Sara) Smith, Carissa Knight (Kyle Cornette), Jamie (Nate) Duke, Samuel Knight, Zachary Smith, Francis Smith; and great-grandchildren, Norah, Maverick, and Stella. She was preceded in death by her sisters Marie Grimley and Judith Harrell. Visitation will be Friday, November 5, 2021 from 4:00 P.M.-8:00 P. M. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 11045 St. Joseph’s Blvd., Mantua, Ohio 44255. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, November 6, 2021, 10:00 A.M. at the church. Officiating will be Rev. Edwin Stafford, and Con-Celebrated with Rev. Thomas McCarthy, and Rev. Patrick O’Connor. (FACIAL COVERINGS WILL BE REQUIRED FOR BOTH VISITATION AND FUNERAL MASS). Final resting place will follow at Westlawn Cemetery, Mantua Township, Ohio, where honored to serve as pallbearers will be Roxana Lyle, Mary Ann Lamppert, Beth Adolph, Carol Gries, Carmen Crawford, and Jennifer Roberts. In lieu of flowers, memorials to her church are suggested.
