Patsy Jean Deskins' Obituary
It is with great sadness that the family of Patsy Jean Deskins, announce her peaceful passing at age 89 on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, in Dayton, Ohio. Born in Belo, West Virginia, Patsy was the daughter of the late Ollie and Polly Hall and sister to the late George Hall. Patsy was preceded in death by her dear daughter Janet Deskins Auber in January 2024. Her loving husband, Charles Edward Deskins was predeceased in March 2022. The couple were married on August 9, 1950, and celebrated 70 years of marriage together. Patsy and Charles were the proud parents of Linda Deskins Baltes (Mike), Janet Deskins Auber (deceased) (Robert), Charles Robert Deskins (Sue), and David Edward Deskins (Holly). Patsy dearly loved her 11 grandchildren, Greg (Amanda) Walker, Tiffany Pravlik, Jessica Walker, Christopher (Shauna) Baltes, Ashley and Chelsea Baltes, Taylor (Chris) Donese, Mitchell (Jenna) Deskins, Matthew Deskins, Gabrielle (Eddie) Gero and Olivia (Cody) Hawkins. She was also the proud great grandmother of Christian and Alexa Walker, Tyler & Paityn Williams, Jeremy Pravlik Jr., Myrissa and Mycah Walker, Emerson and CJ Baltes, Ainsley, Alessia and Amalia Gero, Kasey Deskins, and Henry Donese. One of Patsy's greatest joys was cooking and hosting her large family at all Holiday celebrations.
Patsy took classes at John Marshall University and was employed by Container Corporation until receiving her real estate license in 1970. A resident of Aurora Ohio since 1968, she owned her own business known as Deskins Realty and was very trusted by her clients. Eventually becoming a top seller, Patsy worked diligently to give back to the community and helped many qualify for home ownership because of her support and expertise. Patsy was also very involved in charity events such as "Senior Prom" for the elderly and acting as guest speaker for many fund-raising events in Portage County. In her leisure time, Patsy loved to travel and visited such locations as China and Hawaii. She and Charles often relaxed by the ocean at their favorite home in Myrtle Beach and loved to take cruises. Patsy will forever be remembered for her deep love of family, her kind, giving nature, and her strong perseverance through life's challenges.
Visitation will be held at Green Funeral Care, Pioneer Trail & SR-44 in Mantua Ohio on Monday, September 30th from 10 am -12:00 pm with Funeral Service beginning at 12:00 pm. Burial will take place immediately following at Westlawn Cemetery 3991 OH 82, Mantua, Ohio 44255. Memorial Donations may be made to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Avenue, Dayton, OH 45420.
