Paul E. Campbell's Obituary
SHALERSVILLEPaul E. Campbell, 76 years of age, became Our Gift to God on Saturday January 24, 2015 at Akron City Hospital in Akron, Ohio. Mr. Campbell was God's Gift to Us on November 3, 1938 in Beckley, West Virginia, the son of the late George and Hester (Surratt) Campbell. A resident of the Shalersville area the past 50 years, he had been employed as a truck driver for Chrysler-Lease way retiring after many years of faithful service. Mr. Campbell proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict in the U.S. Navy on the U.S.S. Essex from 1956-1962. Paul was a "Man of God, living his life as an "Avid Christian" practicing his beliefs everyday to all with whom he came in contact with. Fishing, hunting, gardening were some of his pastimes, yet going to the family cabin and sharing special family times will always be remembered by his loved ones who remain. On February 13, 1960, he married his devoted wife Linda (Honaker) Campbell who survives at their home. Also surviving are his beloved children Paul H. ( Sonya) Campbell, Belinda Paulette (David) Romo, and Vanessa ( Roger) Salisbury, Jr. all of Shalersville, son-in-law John D'Alessio of Cuyahoga Falls, 10 loving grandchildren Sonya(Tim), Jonathon, Tasha, Jillian, Marqueta, Tara, Jordan (Jamaal), London, Mikayla and Austin and 8 greatgrandchildren Lyric, Tristan, Desmond, Arianna, Alton, Prominence, Prestiege and Gianna. Preceding him in death was his mother Hester Roach, his step-father Jimmy Roach, his daughter Cynthia Mae "Cindy" D'Alessio and his grandson Jeremy D'Alessio. Calling hours will be Thursday from 6:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service, St. Rt. 44 at the corner of 4668 Pioneer Trail, Mantua, Ohio 44255, where his funeral service will be held Friday January 30, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. Officiating will be Pastor Tom Tyler. Final resting place will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Shalersville Township with military honors provided by the U.S. Navy Honor Guard Team, assisted by Mantua American Legion Post No. 193. Honored to serve as pallbearers will be Roger Salisbury,Jr., Dave Romo, London Salisbury, Curt Salisbury, John D'Alessio and Jonathon D'Alessio.
