Pauline E. Shaffer's Obituary
Pauline E. Shaffer (nee Thomas), age 96, long time Windham resident, Passed away peacefully, Friday December 6th 2024 at the Briar Hill nursing home in Middlefield, Ohio.
Born April 23 1928 in Kingwood, WV, she was the daughter of the late Okey and Ethel (Shears) Thomas.
Pauline began her career at Polson Rubber in Garrettsville where she spent 22 years, and later worked 18 years at Zircoa in Solon from where she retired. She enjoyed gardening, baking, and traveling and was a member of the Sanctuary of Praise Church of God in Garrettsville. Pauline loved going to church, and her greatest joy in life was spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Along with her parents, Pauline is preceded in death by her former spouse Clarence Ray Shaffer Sr., her son Rodney Shaffer and her siblings Bruce Thomas, Willard Thomas, Harry Thomas, Junior Thomas, Robert Thomas, Madeline Ennis, Alva Thomas, Virginia Thomas, and George Thomas. She is survived by her children, Clarence Ray Shaffer Jr. (Marcella), of Kentucky, Michael J Shaffer of Garrettsville, Gregory (Becky) Shaffer of North Carolina, Evelyn Shaffer of Garrettsville, and Marcia Sitko of Garrettsville, 12 grandchildren, and many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren
Friends and family may gather for visitation at Green Funeral Care, 4668 Pioneer Trail, (at the corner of state route 44), Mantua, on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, from 12 to 1:00 PM. A graveside service will follow at Park Cemetery in Garrettsville, Oh.
