Rachel P. Farkas' Obituary
STREETSBORORachel P. Farkas, 68 years of age of Streetsboro, passed away Thursday February 25, 2010 at her residence. Mrs. Farkas was born in Gassaway, West Virginia on October 22, 1941, the daughter of the late Oscar and Esta (Blossor) Belknap. A resident of Streetsboro for the past 20 years, she formerly was a longtime Mantua area resident. Rachel was employed as a quality inspector at Swaglock in Solon, retiring after 36 years of service. Rachel was a volunteer at both the Streetsboro American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and the Streetsboro V.F.W. She also was a member of the Streetsboro Eagles. Camping with her husband Laddie, garage sales, canning for her family and gambling for fun were some of the enjoyments she found in her spare time. Rachel was preceded in death on February 11, 2010 by her husband Laddie Farkas. Also preceding were her brothers Lonnie, James, Gene, Donald, Oliver and Delmos Belknap and sisters Jacqline Carpenter and Ruby Kiser. Rachel is survived by her sons Tom Downing of Streetsboro and Laddie (Lisa) Farkas of Garrettsville; daughters Susan Rose of Kent, Andrea (Eric) Stevens of Brimfield and Terry Farkas of Newburgh Heights; brothers Bernard Belknap of Ravenna and Roy Belknap of Akron; sisters "Toots" Spencer of Garrettsville and "Daisy" Wilke of Hiram; 6 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Visitation will be Monday from 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service in Mantua, where her funeral service will be held Tuesday March 2, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Douglas Denton officiating. Rachel will be laid to rest beside her husband Laddie at Crown Hill Cemetery in Twinsburg.
