GARRETTSVILLE-NELSON Randall A. "Randy" Yeager, 56 years of age, became Our gift to God on Thursday, May 14, 2009 at his residence in Nelson Township. Randy was God's gift to us on February 27, 1953 in Harrison County, West Virginia the son of the late Thomas W. and Ila Jeanne (Hickman)Yeager. A longtime resident of the Garrettsville, Nelson and Windham areas, Randy was a 1972 graduate of Windham High School. For the past 35 years, he has been employed as a machinist at Swagelok of Solon, Ohio. Randy has been involved in many community activities, including as a member and "King Lion" of the Windham Lions Club, a member of Garrettsville Masonic Lodge F.&A.M. and a 32nd degree Mason, a member and Lay Speaker of the Nelson United Methodist Church and as a Boy Scout Leader. Randy has been a Volunteer Firefighter-EMT for 27 years with the Windham, Hiram and Parkman Fire Departments and Community Ambulance. Randy was a great fan of the Windham Bombers, enjoyed using the computer to make cards, loved listening to Gospel and 1960's Rock Music, reading the Bible, an animal person especially cats and found the greatest times of his life spent with his family including vacations in Michigan. On November 12, 1970 he married Teresa "Terry" (Davis) Yeager who survives at their home. Randy is also survived by his children, Rachelle "Shelly" (Curtis) Tucker of Windham, Brian (Trish) Yeager of Freedom and Douglas (Finance Carolyn Flint) Yeager of Freedom; his grandchildren, Jenna and Tiffany Yeager of Freedom; brothers,William Yeager of Garrettsville, Thomas Yeager of Blacksburg, South Carolina, Kenneth Yeager of Kent; sisters, Gladys Laveen of Cleveland and Dixie Klein of Lyndhurst; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Janet and Thomas Bosma of Hiram; his cousin, Donna Jean Queen of Nelson and his loving 4-legged child, "Necessity". A Celebration of Life Service for Randy will be held on Tuesday May 19, 2009 at 11:00A.M. at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service in Mantua with Pastor Rick Hughes of the Nelson United Methodist Church officiating. Visitation at the funeral home will be Monday from 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. and on Tuesday from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. Randy will be laid to rest at Windham Township Cemetery with Brian Yeager, Douglas Yeager, Mark Stonebreaker, Curtis Tucker, Paul Bartlam and Milt Lamp acting as pallbearers. Members of the Windham, Hiram, and Parkman Fire Departments will act as Honor Guards at the funeral home and at the graveside services. Family and friends are invited to the Nelson Community Center following the services on Tuesday.
