Raymond K. Hesketh's Obituary
STREETSBORO Raymond K. Hesketh, 92 years of age, passed away Monday March 28, 2011 at his residence. Mr. Hesketh was born on March 14, 1919 in South Fork, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Harrison and Alice (Bunton) Hesketh. A 1936 graduate of Johnstown High School in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, he was employed as a machinist at Cleveland Pneumatic for 28 years. A resident of Streetsboro, Ohio since 2000, he formerly was a resident of Northfield, Ohio for many years.He was a member of the Northfield, Ohio Loyal Order of Moose Lodge where he attained the title of Pilgrim. He also was a member of Portage Faith United Methodist Church. Raymond and his wife Florence enjoyed traveling allowing them the opportunity to visit with family, friends and make new friends along the way. As the family historian, he loved to share entertaining stories of his interesting life, yet finding his family and grandchildren to be his greatest source of joy and pride. On May 21, 1976, he married Florence (Myers) Hesketh who survives. Also surviving are his children Ronald (Joyce) Hesketh of Florida, Lillian Atkinson of Mantua, Ohio, Joeanne (Gary) Broz of Massachusetts, brothers David (Carol) Hesketh of Brunswick, Ohio, Howard Hesketh of California, Vernon "Sonny" Hesketh of Johnstown, Pennsylvania, sisters Jean Scheck and Mary Louise Blough both of Johnstown, Myrna Strawn of Kenton, Ohio and Eleanor Griffiths of Florida and 9 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter Susan Block, his grandson James Mould, brothers Gerald, Wilfred, Roy and Glenn Hesketh and sisters Shirley Delany and Mildred Malee. Calling hours will be Thursday March 31, 2011 from 5:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M. at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service in Mantua, Ohio where Rev. Carolyn Berry will officiate at his funeral service at 7:00 P.M. Mr. Hesketh will be laid to rest Friday April 1, 2011 at 1:00 P.M. Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Johnstown, Pennsylvania.
