Raymond & Rita Matula's Obituary
Raymond L. Matula, age 97 of Aurora, passed away at his home,
Monday, April 15, 2024, only 5 weeks after the passing of his beloved
wife of 75 years, Rita A. Matula, on March 10, 2024.
Raymond and Rita were the loving parents of Ritarae (Michael) Stone,
Frank (Marcia) Matula, Donna (Roger) Bonath and Kim (Cody) Conley.
Cherished grandparents of Nathan, Natalie, Taylor, Bret, Rachel, Leah,
Hugh, Kaitlin and Halle, and great grandparents of Emma, Jackson,
Charlye, Leo, Cole, Conor and Ansel.
Rita was survived by her sister Elvie Glomb, while the remainder of
their siblings preceded them in death.
Raymond was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean
War. He enjoyed being in the outdoors, boating, fishing, camping,
riding snowmobiles and motorcycles and in the most recent years,
riding his scooter. But what he and Rita treasured the most was
spending time with their family, especially their children and
grandchildren.
The family will gather for visitation on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at Green
Funeral Care, 4668 Pioneer Trail (at the corner of St. Rt. 44), Mantua
from 9:30 am – 10:30 am. A memorial service will immediately follow
at the funeral home at 10:30 am. Interment will follow at Aurora
Cemetery with full military honors.
