Richard L. Cooke, Sr., 78 years of age, passed away Friday March 13, 2020 at his residence. Born in Tire Hill # 2, Pennsylvania on January 4, 1942, he was the son of the late Edward and Faye (McKnight) Cooke. A resident of Windham the past 54 years, Richard had been employed as a machine repairer at Falls Stamping & Welding in Cuyahoga Falls. He had proudly served his country during the Viet Nam Era in the U.S. Marine Corps, and was a longtime member of Windham American Legion Post No. 0674. He enjoyed hunting and NASCAR. On October 8, 1964, he married his childhood sweetheart from kindergarten Joyce E. (Thomas) Cooke who survives at home. Also surviving are his children Richard (Cynthia) Cooke, Jr. of Newton Falls and Ellen (Jeff) Piazza of Hudson, Ohio, his brother Gary (Sharon) Cooke of Windham and his grandchildren Jeffrey and Angela. No calling hours. Cremation has been held. A private family interment will take place at Windham Township Cemetery with military honors.
